The first thing you should know is that you do not need to buy any fancy equipment.
The second thing is.. body fat. If you are overweight you may have those six pack abs and not know it because they are covered by a layer of fat.
With those thoughts out of the way.. the rest is exercise. Regular and consistent exercise. Start slow and work your way up until you sweat and are out of breath.
In order to be able to do that you must condition your body first. That means aerobics, walking, jogging and running. Depending on your present physical condition you may have to start by walking. Then work up to walking with jogging, then running. At the same time you can start the ab exercises. Suggested exercises;
1: Crunches. Laying on your back, knees drawn up with your feet flat on the floor. Hands on your hips, squeeze your abs as tight as you can, as if you were going to do a sit up. Do as many as you can. Subsequently for greater resistance put your hands behind your head. Only lightly touch your head, don’t clasp your hands tightly and try and assist your crunch. Then later on increase the resistance again by using a dumbell or barbell plate held behind your head. Note that these ab exercises can and should be done as part of your exercise routine.
Then there is the jackknife sit-up. This has more of an aerobic aspect. Lay flat on the floor, arms stretched straight behind your head flat on the floor. Simultaneously bring your arms and legs up to do a crunch type sit up. You should be able to grab your toes with your hands on each sit up. Do as many as you can. These are just a couple of exercises that worked for me. There are many others you can easily find on line. Unfortunately a lot of those sites only want to sell you their miracle ab machine or nutrient powder or pill. Those sites I list below contain less selling and more exercise info. Good luck.

It is all in the diet. We all have six packs, they just don’t show. Look for interval training programs and calisthenics like push-ups, pull-ups etc. Then when in better shape start some weight training routine.
