i am trying to work out my abs. i go to the gym and use an ab machine with weights. the max weight on the machine is 160 pounds. I am lifting 100 pounds. It took me a while to be able to lift that much. I have been doing this for 1 month,200 reps of 100 pounds and another 100 reps of 50 pounds.
300 reps total. i only have an outline of Bank Routing Number Central Bank abs . I want ripped abs. but ive been working out for 1 month and still nothing. how many months does it take to be totallly ripped?
i take plenty of protien with a good healthy diet. i just need a timeline. once again i have a balanced healthy diet vegetables fruits. no junk food.

Hmm, OK I understand.
One question though? If you want to get ripped abs (a six-pack?) then why are you doing ab workouts??
I know you said you have almost no body fat, but how much is it? You need a body fat percentage of 6-7% to actually see the whole six-pack. The size of your abs are irrelevant. You can have amazing abs, but there is no point if you can’t see them under your body fat.
If you can’t see your abs then your body fat isn’t low enough, even if you are skinny as H+LL.
Abs workouts (and any muscle workouts) only workout the muscles, they don’t burn any of the body fat covering it.
To lower your body fat % you have to lower your body fat weight. Only cardio does that.
Go to your gym and ask if they have any body fat calculator and find how much is your current body fat %. If the gym doesn’t have one then check any hospital or health center.
Cheers

If you’re only 150 pounds at 6’1” you may not be eating enough. If your body thinks it’s starving it will try to store fat to use as energy later.

Try swimming the breaststroke quit vigorously as often as you can for at least 30-45 minute a go.
Ever seen swimmers who compete and their abs?
Enough said

Let me ask you something, After a hard ab workout how long do you let your muscles to rest?
I can tell you that you are over exercising your abs, If you are lifting 100 pounds and 50 pounds and a total of 300 a day, when do your abs rest to build more muscle?
You can have plenty of proteins but if you don’t let your abs rest they will never grow.
Also, are you sleeping well? are you sleeping at least 8 hours?
when someone rests that’s the time when your body releases hormones and rebuilds broken muscle.
How long are you eating healthy, one month or more? that’s a good question too.
I suggest you to do 3 sets of 50 reps each with a weight of 75 pounds every 2 days and eventually you’ll see the difference.
You see that other people do abs everyday right? but most of them don’t do 300 reps same way you do it, right? you’ll see that they do barely 50 rep with a max of2 or 3 sets.
finally,
1.-treat your muscles abs as any other part of your body and LET THEM REST if you want them to grow.
2.- sleep at least 8 hours.
3.- keep eating healthy. ( you won’t see abs until your tummy fat is gone)
Did you know that advanced body builder work on their abs only once a week? Have you seen those abs? Just to give you an idea my friend.
Did I help you?
