Question by JAH: Ab workouts?
A question about ab workouts. Everytime I go to the gym I do what in my opinion is a good ab workout as follows:
1) Hanging leg raises 10x
2) Hanging knee tucks 20x
3) Incline situps 20x
4) Crunches 40x
5) Side crunches 20x per side
The problem, my abs are never sore after a workout. No, I do not have very strong abs yet. I am curious Swift Code Glenview State Bank if I am not working them out hard enough and/or if I am doing something wrong.
Any help?

if your abs are not sore you should up your reps.
20x
30x
30x
50x
30x per side.
or do a 30 min. work out instead.
good luck.

Crunches suck! I actually tighten my abs until I feel like I’m going to turn inside out and hold them. Count for 15 seconds and give resistance while letting go. Do this as many times as you can stand it. You probably won’t feel it right after you do it but I promise the next morning you’ll feel on fire! Great workout! Plus, you don’t have to waste gym time with this, you can do it at your desk, while eating, or driving.
For an added bonus, try laying on your stomach with your arms and feet stretched out and lifted 6 inches and then do it!

You should focus your center of gravity at the waist area and not using the butt area as a pivot point to raise up your body. That way when you lift up to give the “crunch” to your abs and if possible try to flex the ab muscles while you do your ab exercises so the strain will focus on the ab muscles.
Do more repetitions too, the longer you do the more strain it applies to the muscles, thereby making it grow larger.
