If you have too much fat on your abs than hard work outs will actually make you look fatter because the muscle underneath pushes the fat further out.
If you have just a think layer of fat then probably going to the weight room and working out should get you pretty close to what you want.
Also right after you workout, drinking protein shakes will help build the muscles a lot.
Remember to get plenty of rest because the muscle grow best while your asleep.
I also heard eating certain foods at the right timing can help. Maybe do some researches.

If you are already muscular, try increasing the amount of protien in your diet, and focusing on core excercises when you work out. Crunches only work one area of your abdomen, and you have to work it all to get that six pack you want. Here is a good list of core excercises: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/core-strength/SM00047&slide=1. Whatever you do, don’t cut your calorie intake too much. That will just cause you to back-track on your muscle gains, and you won’t have as much energy when you play sports. Don’t give up if this doesn’t happen for you in one month, your body may not be the type that builds muscle easily. Allow at least six weeks for any noticable results.
